How the Five-Axis Machine Works
Similar to a CNC machining center, a five-axis machine has three liner axes, plus two rotary axes. The difference is the addition of two rotary axes to the machine's headstock and spindle:
- Rotary tables
- Rotary axes
The results? The 5-axis machine offers drastic improvements to these applications:
- Complex 3D Shapes
- 3D Coorindate Conversion: drilling, milling, reaming and taping on tilted surfaces
