Gear Cutter

• Ability to set up and operates hobbers, gear shapers, thread mills, herringbones, and gear shavers
•  Ability to cut, mill, or shaves gear teeth in a variety of gear blanks
• Ability to make necessary adjustments during operations where care is essential to achieve very close tolerances of gear and pinion teeth
• Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, route sheets and verbal orders
• Able to provide necessary hand tools and measuring instruments
• Able to use company provided gauging

Education / Experience

• Twelfth Grade or Equivalent Education
• At least (5) years of experience with the functions of the machines and to operate them competently, and efficiently
• At least (2) years of shop experience on various turning, milling and drilling equipment
• Able to read and understand drawings of product, and understand all written work instructions
• Able to use shop mathematics, micrometers and measuring instruments
