Bevel Gear Cutter

• Ability to set up and operates a compliment of Gleason generators, sizes 14, 16, 26, 28, 60, 70, 655 and 675 spiral and straight tooth machines
• Gleason operations include sharpening tools, setting tools, setting cutter heads and developing no load contact patterns both on master and individual matched sets of gears and pinions as specified
• Ability to set up and adjust the machines to handle a variety of alloy steels working to close tolerances
•  Ability to work from company blueprints or customer blueprints and machine setting summaries supplied by Manufacturing Services

Education / Experience

• Twelfth Grade or Equivalent Education
•  At least (5) years of experience with the functions of the machines and to operate them competently, and efficiently
•  At least (5) years of shop experience on various turning, and gear cutting equipment
• Able to read and understand drawings of product, and understand all written work instructions
•  Able to use shop mathematics, micrometers and measuring instruments
