Since 1924, Brad Foote Gear Works has worked to pursue its main mission - to be a leader in the production of large, high-quality gearing systems. Brad Foote was a leader in the formation of the American Gear Manufacturer's Association (AGMA). This organization is the governing body to oversee standards development in the United States. Again leading the way, in 1993 Brad Foote was the first gear manufacturer to become ISO 9001 Certified.

During the last several years, Brad Foote has invested over $12 million in state-of-the-art equipment. These investments affect all aspects of manufacturing, including Grade 3 carburizing, in-house shot peening, and the latest technology tooth finishing.

The core of this investment includes eight gear-form grinders. Brad Foote possesses some of the best capabilities in the world for high-quality ground tooth gearing. This includes the largest internal/external form grinder in the United States.

These latest additions complement the unique capabilities in large, bevel gear generation. Brad Foote can produce skived bevel gears 120+" in diameter. Now, Brad Foote can match that capability for helical gears to 118" in diameter, by utilizing its Hofler Porta form grinder.

Brad Foote has served most industrial markets over its history. These core markets include oil production, steel mills, power generation, transportation, and pulp and paper. In recent years, Brad Foote has focused on the wind energy segment. With an ever-increasing demand for energy and a fixed supply of fossil fuels, renewable sources of energy are inevitable.
